Special Studies Fall 2011 with the Zebot

Taking Special Studies for the second time with George Zebot and I'm glad I did. It's a lot of work but it made me more comfortable with watercolor and ink. I'm also glad to see such great work in this class. It inspires me even more to be amongst such talented people.

My topic this time is about a couple, Merv and Elsie, that I took care of with my older sister from January 2011 to October 2011. Merv passed away at the age of 92 this September 29th and Elsie is now living in a home due to her Alzheimer's disease. I'm glad to have met them and thank my sister for letting me work with them. I thought it was appropriate to do my study about Merv & Elsie because of how much time I spent with them especially from the end of May to early September; about 12 hours three or four times a week. Routine was key during my days with them but I also learned how to manage myself; to go with my instincts. They taught me how to take my time and that it was fine to do a little teasing. Even though Elsie won't remember our times together I sure will. And although Merv isn't here anymore, I'll remember his two sugars in his tea and coffee, french dressing and lemon pepper on food, and the way he enjoyed seeing two fried eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast again.

2009 Campus Movie Fest

I did the painting for a student film directed by Mark Lee for the 2010 Campus Movie Fest. Good Memories.
