This is my first attempt with this creative allies website. I will definitely try and continue with other contests. Seems to be good practice especially with exploring different styles.

certain items tend to lose themselves and you won't stop searching for it until it is found. this has been experienced by many. a simple but often a difficult solution to this issue is to take a step back. eventually you'll realize how simple the answer really is. 

Searching is an obsession.

Used watercolor for background, thin mix of gouache for shapes of color, and a ball point pen for black lines.  I had another version of this, very similar scene but different color palette. Chose this one because it made me smile inside.  

ILLFri-Gesture

yes, genies spend their time very wisely.

My first attempt on a word for Illustration Friday. Didn't really know where to start so i just looked up the word gesture in the dictionary. Definition for gesture: non-verbal communication. So this is what i came up with. Had several drafts but i'm quite satisfied with this one. Might scan in roughs later.

This here cowboy is called Merv, Merv Clayton from Kansas, not Texas but he grew up in Texas. My current patient. He doesn't really have a mustache but figure'D i'D put one.
